The Williams Inn — Williamstown, Massachusetts

A beautiful, modern inn in a pretty college town — red-barn architecture, calm rooms, and an easy walk to the Clark and Spring Street.

The short version

What is it?

The Williams Inn sits right in the middle of Williamstown, steps from Spring Street and the Clark Art Institute, with North Adams, MASS MoCA, and the Mohawk Trail a few minutes away. The current inn is a striking modern build with red-barn-inspired architecture and a clean, uncluttered aesthetic.

Why stay here?

Full honesty: we’ve spent time in Williamstown and seen the inn, but we haven’t stayed overnight, so we’re recommending it on what it gets right. It’s a central spot — walk to dinner, the Clark, and Spring Street — in a striking modern red-barn building with a calm, beautifully done aesthetic that feels special without a resort price. For a Berkshires foliage weekend with a real town to walk, it’s where we’d point a friend.
